For Bill Hunt, law enforcement has been much more than a career; it has been a lifetime commitment. Bill served a quarter of a century in Law Enforcement and most recently was the Chief of Police of San Clemente. At a young age, Bill knew he was destined to become a police officer. His calling to "protect and serve" led him to join the United States Army when he was just 17 years old, so he could become a Military Police Officer. The day after his 18th birthday, Bill boarded a bus and was off to basic training. And, so began his career in law enforcement that has spanned nearly two and a half decades. After Bill's service in the Army, he joined the Orange County Sheriff Department. Bill rose through the ranks, obtaining a diverse background within the department's divisions including, jails, patrol, investigations, training, narcotics, gang enforcement and SWAT, supervision and management. Bill served as Chief of Police for the city of San Clemente where he managed a department budget of more than $9 million that included patrol, traffic, and parking enforcement, investigations and records. He was also responsible for the Tri-Cities Directed Enforcement Team that specializes in career criminal suppression, youth violence, and gang suppression in Dana Point , San Juan Capistrano, and San Clemente. Bill retired from the Sheriff's Department in December of 2006 and became the founder and CEO of OC Detectives, Inc., a full service private investigations agency based in Orange County California. Bill's experience in business have broadened his management skills and reinforced his belief in building strong working relationships with the public he has served for more than 25 years. Bill and his wife Debbie have four children and live in Laguna Hills.
